Ashton Cigars greatly expanded
their offering during this year' RTDA by adding three new cigar lines to
their inventory of brands. Included is the Premium Dominican that features
a double fermented Ecuadorian wrapper and is personally blended by Carlos
Fuente Sr. with the claim that it is a "full rich" tasting smoke.
The Castano brand is offered as a spicy "Cuban Style" cigar made
in Honduras with a Sumatra seed wrapper. The third cigar line introduced
is called the Savoy. This is a mix filled cigar utilizing four different
tobaccos in the filler and is meant for the budget conscience smoker.

| Consolidated Cigar Corporation has
beefed up its Montecristo blend making it fuller in body and is now sporting
the new Habana 2000 seed wrapper. The are also offering a special limited
super premium Montecristo called Le Cigare Des Arts package in a boxed adorned
with custom art by Michel Delacroix. This line will also include a 9 1/4
x 47 Montecristo "A" sized gran corona. |

Also from Consolidated is a new
brand under the old Havana name of La Corona. These Dominican made cigars
are of exceptional quality, are blended to be smooth and to provide the
smoker with a perfect draw every time. Packaged in Boite Nature boxes these
make a great visual impression. These are Dominican filler and binder with
a high quality Connecticut Shade wrapper. This cigar looks like it could
become a heavy contender in the "smooth, mild, yet flavorful"
market. |
Nick Perdomo's Nick's Cigar Company
introduced a new line of Nicaraguans called Perdomo Reserve as part of their
La Tradicion Cabinet Series. These dark well made box pressed cigars are
made with Nicaraguan filler and binder then swaddled in a beautiful Ecuadorian
Rosado wrapper. Two sizes that caught my eye include the Perdomo A measuring
in at 9 1/4 x 47 and the small Perdomo No. 1 (4 1/2 x 54) figurado.

Avo Uvezian is also introducing
a new cigar called the Avo Domaine Avo <10>. This ultra-premium cigar
is currently only offered in a single 5 1/8 x 50 robusto size and is intended
to be fuller in body than the existing Avo line. Blended from three Dominican
tobaccos with a US Connecticut Shade wrapper this cigar is elegant in appearance
sporting it new purple and silver ring.

Another Habana name reintroduced
during the show is La Flor de Cano by Mike's Cigars. Made by the Partagas
factory in Santiago, DR, these new Cameroon wrapped cigars are offered in
9 different sizes including a Culebra and Diademas. This three-nation blend
is a medium bodied full flavor cigar. |
One of the most unique cigars
displayed at the show was the Boa made by Felipe Gregorio. This oddly shaped
figurado is almost comical with its shape mirroring that of a snake which
just swallowed a large meal. This cigar is part of their Felipe Domicana
line which is a medium bodied smoke comprised of Nicaraguan filler, Dominican
Piloto Cubano binder, and a Conn/Conn shade wrapper.
